I wanted to take a moment to thank every one involved with this great organization.
Last month I received a couple of boxes of sunglasses and goggles for my Marines. At that point they had been on numerous patrols, and the Afghanistan environment had taken it's toll on their eye-wear.
Fortuitously, when we returned to base, the boxes were there and I was able to re-issue on the spot. Thanks again for your patriotism and support.

Brandon contacted me and asked me to please post my email I sent him to his site for others to see. Well, I sent the message through the "contact us" link, and was then unable to copy it.

Well, basically I contacted him to tell him how incredibly touched I was about his and his daughter's personal sacrifice and devotion to such an incredible cause. I was just humbled by their generosity. So, I felt the least that I could do was to try to get the word out through my own facebook. I just wish that there was more I could do. Here is a copy of my post, and Thank you Brandon, to you and your daughter for your incredible selfless act of kindness.

COULD YOU PLEASE READ....
Anyone that knows me well, knows that I am a huge advocate of soldiersangels.org, and that I give all that I can to help our brave men and woman serving our country. It doesn't matter if you are for or against this war, our soldiers are still doing the job they are told to do every day. And so many of them are there ill-equipt and un-supported.

Well I came across an article about a father and daughter and their own selfless act to help out our country's soldiers. I am asking that you PLEASE read and pass this on.
http://soldiersangels.org/index.php?mact=News,cntnt01,detail,0&cntnt01articleid=444&cntnt01origid=118&cntnt01returnid=118

To think that they do what they do and sacrifice what they have just to help out our soldiers I found to be incredible. To see a 7 year old girl give up her Christmas presents just to help find the money to get this cause running, just blew me away. Then to see they got so excited after they finally raised enough money to send over 12 pairs of glasses to our soldiers. My first thought was"are you kidding me? They could only raise enough for 12 pairs?!" After the sacrifices and road they traveled to get to that point....

Anyways I got on their site www.americaswarriors.org to make a donation and was contacted by the father, Brandon Kent. He told me that I was the very first "non-related" person to give a donation.
Well, I found that to be very sad. What a great cause, and they just can not get the word out because as he told me, they just do not have the money to really "advertise" their cause and they have to compete with the much larger established charities. Well, I figured if they can sacrifice so much, then the least that I can do is try to spread the word, for free. So, please, please, whether you can donate yourself or not, can you please forward the link to those you know. You tell 2 friends, and they tell 2 friends, and so on, and so on...
And maybe we can help out just a little bit more, as this 7-year-old little girl did...
Thanks.
And Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I ama recent returnee from Iraq. We did a Relief In Place (RIP) with another unit to take our place in detainee operations. Getting mail was a GREAT thing that we looked forward to. It could be anything and it was exciting to get mail. Evrything is used and the stuff that isn't is traded/given to someone else in the unit. Also you might want to limit packages to a specific person in a specific unit. They were limiting "TO ANY SOLDIER" packages in our camp due to dangerous stuff inside of them.
